What's involved in an immigration medical?

We'll complete the eMedical with you – this includes a health questionnaire, a declaration (which is a legal statement you need to sign), measurements by the nurse (i.e. vision, blood pressure, height and weight), a physical examination by the doctor, urine test, blood test and/or X-ray if required.

How do I prepare for an immigration medical?

Important information to read prior to your appointment

Very important - you are unable to have a Full Immigration Medical if you are menstruating (this is due to the presence of blood in your urine). Please contact us to reschedule your appointment if it falls during your cycle - you will not lose your deposit.

  1. Please remember to bring your passport with you (and for all members of your party). We cannot process your medical without it and you will be asked to reschedule.

  2. If you are a parent or a guardian accompanying a minor you must also bring your passport and proof of guardianship.

  3. If you cannot write or do not understand English you will need to provide your own interpreter for your examination to proceed.

  4. Children under the age of 11years old do not require either chest X ray or blood test.

  5. There is no need to fast for your appointment, you can eat or drink as usual on the day of your examination.

  6. You will be asked to provide a urine sample during your examination.

  7. You will have an eye test so please bring your glasses if required.

  8. Avoid caffeine and drink water for hydration - this helps both your blood pressure and urine (if needed)

  9. If you require an x-ray, please don’t wear jewellery and avoid wearing a bra that has an underwire (if applicable). It’s also helpful to wear clothes that are easy to take on and off.

  10. If you are pregnant, please bring evidence of your pregnancy, such as a letter from your Midwife.

  11. If you are on any medications, please remember to disclose this during your medical

  12. Please be advised that you will have to undergo a supervised Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) upon arrival to the clinic and will need to produce a negative COVID-19 result in order to proceed with the medical

  13. If you are unwell at the time of your Immigration Medical this may have an effect on your submission - please let the team know on 07 839 7761 if you are sick as we may need to reschedule your appointment
